Spot by Flexera Pricing 2026: Metered vCPU-Hours and Savings, Not a Flat Fee
Spot by Flexera (Elastigroup for VMs, Ocean for containers, Eco for commitments) automates the purchase and use of cloud capacity. Unlike most tools on our list, it does not charge a flat platform fee: it meters the compute it manages and the savings it delivers. The old spot.io pricing page now redirects to Flexera's homepage, so the public rates live on Spot's own AWS Marketplace listings.
Every figure on this page was read from Spot by Flexera's own pricing page, documentation, online store or its own AWS Marketplace listing on 1 October 2026, and each one links to where it came from. Spot by Flexera has not reviewed this page. Nothing here is estimated: where the vendor publishes no number, the page says so. How we source prices.

Reading the Numbers
The compute meter is simple to size: a fleet averaging 100 vCPUs under Spot management for a 730-hour month runs 73,000 vCPU-hours, or 730 units of 100, which is $1,032.95 at the listed $1.415. That is arithmetic on the listed rate, before any savings-realized charge and before the minimum fee, which Spot does not publish.
For the savings Spot instances can deliver in the first place, see the spot strategy section of cloud cost savings strategies.

Every tool graded on our FinOps tools comparison that has a published price or a published free position, with the vendor's own pricing basis. Figures are not normalised to one spend level because the vendors meter different things (spend, cores, resources, runs).

Spot by Flexera Pricing FAQ
How is Spot by Flexera priced?
Spot's own AWS Marketplace listing says its services are billed monthly on one or more metrics: vCPU usage (priced per 100 vCPU-hours for Ocean and Elastigroup) and savings realized (priced per dollar saved for Eco), with minimum monthly or yearly fees and overage charges above the minimums.
How much does Spot cost per vCPU hour?
On Spot's pay-as-you-go AWS Marketplace listing (read 1 October 2026), 100 vCPU hours costs $1.415, whether the hours run on on-demand, reserved, Savings Plan or committed-use capacity, or on Spot and preemptible VMs. The 12-month contract listing shows the same $1.415 per 100 vCPU hours.
Is there a free tier for Spot by Flexera?
Yes. The pay-as-you-go listing offers a 14-day free trial, after which you can stay on a freemium tier for up to 20 virtual machines or move to pay-as-you-go billing.
Does Spot still take a percentage of savings?
Savings realized is still a billing metric. The pay-as-you-go listing prices 'EG and Ocean managed savings' at $0.28 per unit and the contract listing prices 'Savings realized by Eco' at $0.10 per unit. The listing's pricing note gives savings metrics in the form of dollars per $1 saved, but it does not define the unit on these rows, so we quote them as listed rather than as percentages.
Where is the spot.io pricing page?
It no longer exists. On 1 October 2026 spot.io/pricing redirected to the Flexera homepage. Spot's public prices now sit on its AWS Marketplace listings.
