IBM Cloudability Pricing 2026: Spend-Managed Contracts From $30,000 a Year

IBM Cloudability (formerly Apptio Cloudability) is IBM's enterprise FinOps platform. The product page on apptio.com publishes no price. IBM's own AWS Marketplace listing does: three 12-month contracts sized by the annual cloud spend the platform manages.

Every figure on this page was read from Cloudability's own pricing page, documentation, online store or its own AWS Marketplace listing on 1 October 2026, and each one links to where it came from. Cloudability has not reviewed this page. Nothing here is estimated: where the vendor publishes no number, the page says so. How we source prices.

Listed Contract Tiers (AWS Marketplace)

The listing is sold by IBM Software. Each tier is a 12-month contract; the descriptions below are verbatim from the listing.

CLDY3MYEARManage up to $3M of annual cloud spend. Addl fees above $3M/year$76,680
CLDY6MYEARManage up to $6M of annual cloud spend. Addl fees above $7M/year$132,480

Source: AWS Marketplace: IBM Cloudability (sold by IBM Software), read 1 October 2026.

The $6M tier's description says fees apply above $7M a year; that is the listing's wording, quoted as written. The listing also carries per-package overage dimensions priced per unit, with the unit undefined, so they are not reproduced as rates. Private offers and direct IBM contracts can differ from the public listing.

What Cloudability Publishes, and What It Does Not

Published

  • ✓Three 12-month contract prices on IBM's AWS Marketplace listing
  • ✓That pricing is based on the cloud spend the platform manages
  • ✓The three packages (Essentials, Standard, Premium) and what each adds
  • ✓That overage dimensions exist per package and commit type

Not published

  • -Any price on apptio.com or ibm.com product pages
  • -A per-package price for Essentials, Standard or Premium
  • -The unit behind the overage dimensions
  • -Prices for annual cloud spend above $6M
  • -A percentage-of-spend rate

Reading the Numbers

Cloudability's listed tiers get cheaper per dollar managed as they rise: 3.0% of the ceiling at $1M, 2.6% at $3M and 2.2% at $6M. The ratio is our arithmetic on IBM's listed figures, not a rate IBM publishes.

IBM also owns Kubecost, which prices per CPU core rather than spend; see Kubecost pricing. The feature comparison with Broadcom's platform is on CloudHealth vs Cloudability.

Enterprise Spend-Tier Listings Side by Side

CloudHealth, Cloudability and Flexera publish no rate card on their own sites, but each lists 12-month contracts on AWS Marketplace priced against the cloud spend the platform manages. The last column is plain division: the listed fee over the tier's annual spend ceiling. It is the effective rate only for a buyer sitting exactly at the ceiling; anyone below it pays a higher share.

Sources: CloudHealth listing; Cloudability listing; Flexera CCO listing; Flexera CCO fixed-annual listing, all read 1 October 2026. CloudHealth tiers count monthly AWS spend, so the annual ceiling is the monthly figure times 12; Cloudability and the first Flexera row state annual spend directly. Listings are the vendors' own public offers; private offers and direct contracts can differ.

How Cloudability Compares With the Other Graded Tools

Every tool graded on our FinOps tools comparison that has a published price or a published free position, with the vendor's own pricing basis. Figures are not normalised to one spend level because the vendors meter different things (spend, cores, resources, runs).

Cloudability Pricing FAQ

How much does IBM Cloudability cost?

IBM publishes no price on its Cloudability product page; it offers a free trial and a contact form. Its own AWS Marketplace listing (sold by IBM Software, read 1 October 2026) prices 12-month contracts at $30,000 to manage up to $1M of annual cloud spend, $76,680 up to $3M, and $132,480 up to $6M, with additional fees above each threshold.

Is Cloudability priced as a percentage of cloud spend?

It is priced on the cloud spend it manages, in fixed tiers rather than a published percentage. On IBM's Marketplace tiers the fee works out to 3.0% of the $1M ceiling, 2.6% of the $3M ceiling and 2.2% of the $6M ceiling, so the effective rate falls as the tier rises. IBM does not publish a percentage.

What are the Cloudability Essentials, Standard and Premium packages?

IBM describes three packages on its Cloudability page: Essentials for establishing FinOps fundamentals, Standard adding unit economics, total cloud program cost allocation and planning, and Premium adding advanced optimization and extended automation. IBM does not publish a separate price for each package.

What does Cloudability charge above the contracted cloud spend?

IBM's Marketplace listing includes separate overage dimensions for spend above the contracted amount, split by package (Essentials, Standard, Premium, Financial Planning, Commercial Billing) and by annual or total commit. The listing prices them per unit but does not define the unit, so we do not convert them to a rate.
