Google Cloud Billing and Cost Management Pricing 2026: Free Tools, Billed Exports
Google Cloud's billing reports, budgets and Cost Management tools are free. Costs appear when you go deeper: Google's route to detailed analysis is to export billing data to BigQuery, and BigQuery bills for storing and querying it.
Every figure on this page was read from GCP Billing's own pricing page, documentation, online store or its own AWS Marketplace listing on 1 October 2026, and each one links to where it came from. GCP Billing has not reviewed this page. Nothing here is estimated: where the vendor publishes no number, the page says so. How we source prices.

What GCP Billing Publishes, and What It Does Not
Published
- ✓That Cost Management tools and Cloud Billing APIs are free
- ✓That BigQuery charges apply to stored and queried billing exports
- ✓That FOCUS export storage is not charged
Not published
- -A single figure for what a billing export costs: it depends on your BigQuery storage model and query volume
Where It Fits
For a Google Cloud-only estate, the native tools cover Crawl-phase FinOps at no charge, and the FOCUS export avoids storage charges on the billing data itself. Multi-cloud teams usually add one of the platforms on the tools comparison.
How GCP Billing Compares With the Other Graded Tools
Every tool graded on our FinOps tools comparison that has a published price or a published free position, with the vendor's own pricing basis. Figures are not normalised to one spend level because the vendors meter different things (spend, cores, resources, runs).

GCP Billing Pricing FAQ
Is Google Cloud Billing free?
Google states that its Cost Management tools and 24/7 billing support are offered at no additional charge for Google Cloud customers, and that all use of the Cloud Billing APIs is free of charge (read 1 October 2026).
Does exporting Google Cloud billing data to BigQuery cost money?
Loading the export into the dataset is free, but Google says you incur BigQuery usage charges when you use BigQuery to store and analyze your billing usage and cost data. Those are standard BigQuery storage and query charges.
Is the FOCUS billing export cheaper to store?
Yes. Google provides the FOCUS export as a Google-managed immutable export using a linked dataset, so you are not charged storage costs for the FOCUS data. You are still charged when you query it.
What does Google charge for besides the tools themselves?
Google says you are charged only for use of Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions and Cloud Storage.
